Beautifully handwoven Shigras with leather from Ecuador.
Made by indigenous artesans from the Andean region of "Cotopaxi". Shigras are made with "Cabuya" a fiber from the Agave plant.
Artisans say that they "do not know" how long it takes to make these unique pieces of Folk Art, as women take their work around and handwoven only a little bit at a time. One Shigra may take months to be completed. (S, M, L)
